CRM Safety Net setup and user guide
Install the app, run your first scan, configure monitoring, and manage your plan.
1. Install and authorize CRM Safety Net
Install CRM Safety Net through HubSpot and approve the requested OAuth permissions. CRM Safety Net requires read access to HubSpot deal data so it can evaluate open deals. It does not require deal write access to perform its monitoring checks.
2. Open CRM Safety Net in HubSpot
After installation, open CRM Safety Net from HubSpot's app navigation or search for CRM Safety Net. The app page shows the number of deals needing attention and the amount of open pipeline affected.
3. Run your first scan
Open the CRM Safety Net app page and run a scan. CRM Safety Net reviews open deals against the checks enabled in your settings. If nothing needs attention, the app shows a clear zero-state. If issues are found, each flagged deal includes the reason and a direct link back to the HubSpot deal.
What CRM Safety Net checks
- No owner: an open deal does not have a deal owner.
- No next activity: an open deal has no upcoming activity or its next activity is overdue.
- Past close date: an open deal's expected close date has already passed.
- Gone quiet: an open deal has gone longer than the configured inactivity threshold without activity.
4. Configure settings
Open the CRM Safety Net settings page from the app's Connected Apps entry in HubSpot. You can turn individual checks on or off. Free accounts use a fixed 14-day gone-quiet threshold.
5. Pro monitoring and email digests
CRM Safety Net Pro is $19/month plus applicable tax. Pro adds automatic monitoring, a configurable gone-quiet threshold, and a daily Safety Net email digest when automatic monitoring finds deals that need attention. Enter the email address that should receive digests and save your settings.
6. Billing
Upgrades and billing are handled through Stripe. Free accounts can start checkout from the CRM Safety Net settings page. Pro accounts can open the secure billing portal to update payment information, view invoices, or schedule cancellation. When a subscription is canceled through the portal, Pro access remains available through the end of the paid billing period and then reverts to Free.
7. Uninstall
To disconnect CRM Safety Net, use HubSpot's Connected Apps management screen and uninstall the app. You can also contact support if you need help with account data or billing after uninstalling.
